The market of email clients is very large and growing by the hour. The problem is that most email clients offer too many features that the average user doesn't need, thus making the interface and functionality more difficult to use. On the other hand, some email clients don't offer the right features for the average user. Sylpheed manages to offer just the right balance between functionality and ease of use.

This Windows email client allows you to read and write emails using an intuitive interface, which is similar to the one of Microsoft Outlook, the popular email client, but offers email functionality in a lighter package.

After installing and launching the program, the user will be presented with a step by step wizard, which allows him to configure his email account. For that, he will need to enter the email address, password, username and email servers. Unfortunately, there is no auto-discovery option, for automatically detecting email servers.

After configuring all the settings, the main interface of the program will be displayed, allowing the user to download messages from his mailbox with a single mouse click. After the downloading process is complete, one will be able to preview messages in the lower part of the interface. Replying or forwarding a message is just a click away, as the graphical toolbar allows fast email operations.

When sending a message, the user can take advantage of the address book feature, for quickly adding recipients to the message. Each entry added to the address book can contain various information about a person, like the name, email address, phone number and so on. What's more, filters can be defined for the messages, which is useful for automatically storing certain emails inside separate folders.
